Regulatory and useful information about the Scheme
The NRG Group Pension Scheme (the “Scheme”) provides benefits on retirement, ill-health and on death for members. The Scheme provides defined benefit (“DB”) benefits and defined contribution (“DC”) benefits. Members may have also paid additional voluntary contributions (“AVCs”), which is also a type of DC or ‘money purchase’ benefit, into the Scheme. All members of the Scheme are either receiving a pension (including spouses or dependants of members who have died) or have a deferred pension which will be paid when the member retires. The DC section of the Scheme closed to future accrual of benefits on 31 March 2013, which means there are no active members in the Scheme.
